Sonja's New Year's Eve visit

Okay, just how we achieved this "Phantom of the Opera" look on the right side of my face I don't know; suffice it to say that this was the only picture taken at lunch, and it was taken with my cell phone.

The holidays were exhausting...

Julia's mama and aunts on her daddy's side are some of the most gorgeous creatures and I think Julia favors them quite a bit. Which means Daddy (Ted) is in for a world of trouble soon!! I swear she gets prettier EVERY DAY!

Livi and Grandpa and the singing toy

Funny story: Livi is timid around Grandpa, but her cousin Katrina is not. So the girls were daring each other to go over and touch this weird, singing toy that Grandpa was holding.

At long last Katrina worked up the nerve to touch the thing and slowly extended her hand and almost touched it when...Grandpa lunged at her and said "BOO!"

Good thing Katrina is potty trained.

Yes, the actual stockings are now purely decorative. The enormous bags we're opening are now, technically, stockings. Yes, that IS a Lenox box in a stocking. (Livi got Mikasa-- it doesn't pay to be adopted, I guess!)
